Crypto.com Review 2026: Is the App Worth It in Canada?
Some links are affiliate links: if you sign up through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Not financial advice.
Crypto.com is an all-in-one app: buy and sell crypto, a card program, rewards, and its own token, CRO. That breadth is the appeal and the drawback. This review focuses on what a Canadian beginner needs: is it registered, how do you fund it, what does it really cost, and how do you get your coins out to your own wallet.
Check any platform on the CSA's list of authorized crypto trading platforms. Features and fees vary by country and change often; confirm them in the app.
Is Crypto.com registered in Canada?
Crypto.com’s Canadian page says its Canadian entity, Foris DAX CAN ULC, is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission and the Canadian Securities Administrators as a Restricted Dealer, and with FINTRAC as a money services business (as of October 2026, per crypto.com/ca). As with any platform, double-check the CSA list.
Who it’s for
- Good fit: you like having one app for buying, a card and rewards, and you’re comfortable reading the final amount before confirming.
- Less ideal: you want the lowest possible cost on every trade, or a minimal, distraction-free app. Kraken Pro or Coinbase Advanced are more direct for that (see Kraken vs Coinbase in Canada).
The welcome bonus
At the time of writing, eligible new users in Canada can get a welcome bonus of up to US$50 in CRO (conditions apply; check the offer on sign-up). Note that the bonus is paid in CRO, whose value moves like any other crypto.
How sign-up works
- Download the official Crypto.com App (from crypto.com or the official app store listing).
- Create an account and verify your identity with government photo ID; a selfie check is common.
- Answer any investor questionnaire Canadian rules require.
- Turn on two-factor authentication and set an app passcode.
- Fund your account and make a small first purchase.
Funding in CAD
Crypto.com’s Canadian page says you can instantly deposit CAD via Interac e-Transfer and Apple/Google Pay, and describes CAD deposits as zero-fee, while noting other fees and spread may apply (as of October 2026). Card purchases are typically the most expensive option, so check the total.
Fees and spreads: what to check
In the Crypto.com App, the price you see when buying includes a spread, so the clearest number is the final amount of crypto you receive for your dollars. Before confirming:
- Compare the quoted price with the market price shown elsewhere.
- Check the fee for your payment method (card vs CAD balance).
- Check the withdrawal fee and network for the coin you plan to move.
Crypto.com also runs a separate trading platform, the Crypto.com Exchange, with its own fees and limits page. Availability of each product differs by country, so check what’s offered in your province.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Restricted Dealer in Canada (per Crypto.com) | Busy app with many upsells |
| Interac e-Transfer and Apple/Google Pay deposits | App prices include a spread |
| Card, rewards and many coins in one place | Rewards and bonuses paid in CRO, which is volatile |
| Welcome bonus for eligible new users | Features vary by country and change often |
Moving crypto to your own wallet
- Create a Solana wallet (or a wallet for the coin you hold) and copy the address.
- In the Crypto.com App, use the withdraw option to an external wallet, add the address, and pick the correct network (Solana for SOL).
- New withdrawal addresses can have a waiting period on some platforms; plan for it.
- Send a small test first.
